God Bless your daughter! Please send her my deepest appreciation. 4 deployments - Wow-- I can only imagine your pride and also the normal anxiety family members go through. My son deployed 3 times in his 4 year Active duty.

No thanks needed here Mike-- THEY deserve all the thanks- plus those patriotic Americans that donate to our cause. We are just the middle man per-say.

I hope you can help me..  I ship care packages to a OP.  I wonder if you know what camo pattern they wear in Afganistan?  Is there certain colors on the shirts?  I have asked many people & Got Many answers..  Also, I wonder if you can tell me the cost on a shower, the OP needs one.  Thank You for Your Time..

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Sabrina-- God Bless you for supporting our Troops. I assume your asking what are th colors of the Marines Cammie's-- they are Digital Desert Sand. Various colors of beige.  Keep in mind any under garments- Teeshirts etc.. MUST be 100% cotton when worn our in the field. Dicks and other sporting good stores including Walmart, sell 5 Gallon heavy duty Solar showers-- they range in price for $6.99- $15.00 depending where you go. I hope that helps answer your questions.

Keep up the great work!

Hi Jean! Thank you for your offer and comment.
Bless you son.  Please pass on my deepest gratitude and pride for his choice to serve our Country.
Regarding the small refrigerator you have so graciously offered.  I must send only new ones due to the risk of older ones may leak Freon as well as any security risks of accepting such an item from a personal source. I must always keep the safety of our Marines and Sailors foremost in my mind at all times. I realize you have good intentions and mention your son is just completing Boot Camp. In this day and age I cannot take any risks with what I ship- I hope you understand why I must always be very cautious. I also must accept full responsibility for all products we send.
If you have time and would like to get involved on other ways to support our deployed I ALWAYS welcome all ideas and assistance! J Please email me personally at plewis54@mom4rmarines.org.
I look forward to speaking with you in the near future.
Semper Fi!!!

Hello,

We are financially strapped but I do have an old small refrigerator that I am willing to donate to our troops.  Is there somewhere close to home where I can drop it off.  My son Christopher has recently graduated from the Marine Corp boot camp in San Diego and i have many family members who have had or have Marines serving over seas.  Please let me know how I can help.  I have hands eyes and a body if you just need me to volunteer some time.  Semper Fi all and god bless America and our troops

I wanted to thank you for your support and greeting of my Marines as they returned from Afghanistan last week. The gift card that each Marine received was very generous. Please let me know if there is anything we can do for you in the future. Thank you again!

It was my honor! I loved handing out the gift cards, they were only a small token of our appreciation for the sacrifices you have made for the past 7 months for our Country, That was my first welcome home at the Philadelphia Airport with Warriors Watch and Tun Tavern Leathernecks MC, and it was fantastic! Seeing you and your Marines come down that escalator to the flag line was a site I will never forget. Unless someone attends homecomings for our Military they have no clue what they are missing, it is a feeling those involved will never forget.

My son is recently deployed to Afghanistan; his 21st birthday is April 30th.  I’m hoping to get to him a small care pkg., do I ship UPS this or just take it over to the US mail? I’m told it takes about 3 weeks for anything to get there. Also, I’m very interested in sending materials to the whole unit during their mission, I have many resources and involved with over 100 motorcycle clubs, both in NJ &Pa, having many veterans in these clubs, I’m gone to start cracking the whip, to make sure our Marines don’t go without, I also ride with Warriors Watch, and met you Patty in Folsom, Pa. when the remainder of the bridge co, returned home.  Please forward any info that would be helpful during these trying times. Thank you so much, (all personal information removed due to OPSEC) Again, Thank You for all your help and hope to see you and your husband on our next mission. I’m the Road Captain of "TRUE BROTHERS OF THE ROAD "MC We do a lot  of fundraisers for sick kids, Many, many benefits, and poker rides for people in need, Police officers, Motorcyclist who have fallen, or maybe injured real bad in a accident, ON &ON.

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE
Hi Barney!!!
Yes I remember you well from this past week-ends homecoming! What a beautiful site seeing the Marines coming down the escalator at the airport!! I wish I had the time or tech support to assist me so I could post all our recent missions and photos. Our support network would love and should see the smiles on the faces of our Marines and Sailors because of their assistance though donations. I am working on accomplishing that big time.
I removed all your personal information you included due to OPSEC (Operational security.) When speaking with others it is a good practice to start now-- knowing all the regulations of OPSEC, never give out your sons rank, full name or unit, never discuss any movement of the unit that you may hear about. This is not only for your son’s security but all of his units’ safety as well.

The best way to mail pkgs is via USPS. They have flat rate boxes available that are free Information Below in case any other new military fmaily member needs such information.
The US Post Office has made available to us flat rate boxes to mail our care packages to our Marines & Sailors. These boxes are free but there is a flat rate postage charge, which I have listed below.

They have a military kit you can order which contains:

2- 12x 12 x 5 1/2 boxes, large cube, cost $12.50  to ship no matter the weight<<< this was my favorite when my son was deployed.
2- 11x 8.5X 5.5 boxes, small cube, cost $10.70 to ship regardless of weight

2- 11 7/8 x 3 3/8 x 13 5/8 boxes, shirt type box, cost $10.70 to ship regradles of weight

1 roll of shipping tape
Custom forms
<<< Every box MUST have a custom form attached and completed with all information requested.
Address labels
pouches for the customs forms

To order this kit call 1-800-610-8734, when prompted press the key for info on priority boxes. Ask for CAREKIT04. << You can also request the individual one size you feel you want. I would order 25 of the 12x 12 x 5 1/2 boxes, large cube, $11.95 cost to ship no matter the weight

This the only way you can order the military kit, however you can order everything individually if you wish, at the US Postal Store at www.USPS.com.
Or you can pick some up at the PO but sometimes they do not have any available so I always order mine online.
Hopefully the above information helps you. Welcome to the USMC Family! I look forward to your call this evening.

found out about the program at the CT home show at the CT convention center this weekend in Hartford, CT. the woman Pam spent her whole weekend without pay raising money for the program. (Note she does not have a child or loved one in the military at this point she donates her time and effort!) while she and her daughter sat all weekend some of the so called Americans walked by saying NO WE DO NOT SUPPORT THE MARINE CORPS!!! I wanted to reach out and slap the like Benny Hill. these people never saw the military and have no clue what are brothers and sisters have given up to keep these idiots safe and able to go play golf and drive their volvo's. Thanks Pam and all involved keep up the good work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all ignore those that are ignorant and cluless, for they are unaware and unappreciative of the freedoms our military has provided them. I would assume non of their friends or family members have ever had the courage and dedication to have served in the military on our countrys behalf.

God Bless Pam!!! I just posted a thank you to all that donated at the Hartford Home Builder's (HBA) CT Home Show and  Hartford  County HBA  just minutes before I saw your comment today. Pam is an AWESOME woman and I can never thank her for EVERYTHING she has done for our Marines and Sailors. She is more than priceless to me personally! Ladies and gentlemen,

I for one would like to send my appreciation to all of the volunteers and board members at all of the Divisions that make it happen for Mom4rMarines.  Without them this great organization probably wouldn't exist.  The countless hours and devotion that they provide the Marines and their families is just as selfless as the Marines on our front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan.  You great Americans keep our morale and spirits running on high.  It's a little bit of home that the Marines and Sailors surely appreciate.  Thank you once again.

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Gunnery Sgt Gonzales,

Thank YOU for taking the time to send us this wonderful letter. We never expect any thank you's considering we are fully aware that free time is a rare and priceless commodity to our Marines  and Sailors have.

Bringing a smile and lifting morale is what MOM 4R MARINES is all about, if we did that in some small way, then we have accomplished our mission. We will continue to  send support and some touches of home to our deployed, year round.

Christmas we go a little wild.   We can only imagine how difficult  it is being so far from home, away from your loved ones and deployed in such a volatile area of operations. My son was away over Christmas twice out of his 3 deployments, it is difficult for all. We hold the deepest pride and are extremely dedicated to our Marines and Sailors.

You are the best and deserve the best.

Hi!  My son is a marine, scheduled to deploy to the Helman Valley of Afghanistan in ( Edited due to OPSEC) 2010.  Since I live in Colorado, is there any way I can help you, or do I need to live close to wherever it is you are located?

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Hi Linda!!! I took out the date you posted due to OPSEC ( Operational Security) God Bless your son and your family! Is this his first deployment?? I was down that road 3 times in the 4 years my son was active duty. You're also our hero for standing behind your son. Our sons and daughters enlisted and chose this road, and we the parents sometimes feel like we were drafted! Hahahaha..Needless to say we must provide all the support and pride we can muster.

You surely don't need to live near me to get involved, we welcome you wholeheartedly.

Please send me a personal email to plewis@mom4rmarines.org and we can discuss this in more details.  Hopefully your sons battalion has a Parents group to keep you informed and supported throughout your sons deployment.  Each Unit/ Battalion now has the option to incorporate parents officially into their Family Readiness Program. I have assisted the USMC the past 3 years with identifying the need to add parents officially into this program. Considering 70% or more of our Marines and Sailors are single it is imperative to acknowledge this demographic which is the main support system to their Marines and Sailors. I believe we still need a bit more details, but we are getting there slowly but surely.

I look forward to your email and would love to speak with you.

We appreciate the thanks sent our direction, however it is YOU and your brothers and sisters that deserve ALL the thanks. The American people want to show you our support, and reassure all of you that your never forgotten back home!
You being a Corpsman is VERY special to our Marines! All our Corpsman's ( The USMC Medics for those unfamiliar) are priceless to those that are injured. I have heard time and time again that we would have lost some of our young warriors if it wasn't for the quick and professional assistance by our Corpsman. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!  We received a call on Christmas Day from our son Derek, currently deployed to Afghanistan with 1/3 Bravo.  He received a stocking and was thrilled!  He said that it was filled with "insanely useful stuff!"   His little sister was very happy that he had received a Reindeer Webkinz (she has a lot of them).  Now, all of our children received a Webkinz for Christmas.  LOL, the thought crossed this Marine Mom's mind to send a stuffed animal, but..... well, ....   Thank you for sending one!

Thank you for all you do for our Marines!!  May God continue to bless your ministry!

Patrick, Cheryl, Noah, Naomi, and Jacob

 MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

 Cheryl,

I am so thrilled to hear you son received his stocking, and was pleased with the contents. Nothing makes a parent happpier than knowing their Marine/ Sailor are happy and smiling.  I was also a Marine mom, from 2003-2007, my son did 3 deployments, 1  to Afghanistan in 2004 and Iraq in 2005 and again in 2006. I know firsthand what our Marines and Sailors like and need.  Nowadays I am still a Marine mom, but have over 202,000 sons and daughters.

In the past I always added a holiday Beanie Baby to the top of the stocking bag. This year donations were down by 60%, thank God for Leigh and Mr. Ganz ( maker of the WEBKINZ) They donated 4000 Reindeer Webkinz and when I mentioned the children of the deployed living back at bases throughout the country, they added another 2000 to send to the children!!!!! So any recipient of the stockings that have children, now have the same Webkinz that daddy has! I give a HUGE OO-RAH to Ganz for being so generous to our Marines and MOM 4R MARINES organization!

The headlamps which I know is the Marines/ Sailors # 1 favorite was donated this year by two companies, that are competitors! They came together and split the 4000 headlamps needed! I HAD to have those headlamps or I would not have been a happy camper! LOL Then Blackhawk donated 4000 pouches to hold the headlamps!

Last and definitely NOT least I send my deepest thanks and gratitude to the hundreds of dedicated, patriotic supports that made monetary donations! Without you this HUGE mission would NOT have been possible at all!!! I  am only the middle man, all of YOU are the ones that make this effort of support possible!

I know Cheryl having your son deployed any time is very difficult, but over the holidays is extremely hard on all the families, to know we made your sons day means the world to us! It means we were successful in our goal to lift their morales and bring a smile to their faces even if only for a brief moment.

Thank YOU and your family for sharing your son with our country!

Your letter means so much to all of us, thanks for taking the time to write.

I am also involved with other endeavors within the USMC, separate from MOM 4R MARINES. I know the Family Readiness Officer for 1/3 very well. Make sure you have been added to their parents program. I won't go into more details here, but if you have recently received an email from him, you will note my name mentioned as we worked together on the 1/3 forum recently created. It is priceless to the Marine Corps parents to get such support from their Marines/ Sailors unit, especially with the geographical  challenges of parents across the country.

God Bless you and yours always.

I am happy to hear you received the stockings all intact. Captain of unit B sent me great pictures this morning! I will be sure to post them ASAP. The stockings were possible due to hundreds of dedicated and giving American citizens. MOM 4R MARINES is only the middle man, without the patriotism of our donors this mission would never have been so successful. We continue our missions forward to send support to all of you, which hopefully shows you all your not forgotten back home!

Please tell your men those stockings were filled with an immense sense of pride, gratitude and tight hugs for what you all do daily for our Nation.  Please stay safe and try to have the best possible Christmas that anyone can have while deployed. I also made sure the spouses and children of 1/3 also had special gifts for their party. matter of fact all the children also received the same exact Reindeer Webkinz that is tied to the top of the stockings you received. The children have been told that Daddy was going tog et the same exact Webkinz from Santa, so when the children hold their Reindeer closely, they know daddy has his with him as well.

God Bless you all. Merry Christmas!

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Each and Everyone of you have taken time from your very own valuable lives to support us individually or by organization for the upcoming Holiday Season. And we certainly appreciate it! I have enclosed some photos of the final product of repacking everything you sent to me into what we call Tri-Walls (White Boxes) Each one of those Boxes weights in excess of some 400 lbs and all 12 Boxes are filled side to side and bottom to top, before I sealed them up to be shipped off to the Marines and Sailors of the Regimental Combat Team. Total Weight of Gifts, Goods, Stockings, Love and Hugs, exceeded some 5000 lbs. The Warriors will be excited to get and receive all that you sent to them. It’s nice to know that they will find more than Guns and Ammo under the X-Mas tree this year. We Love You All. SgtMaj Kufchak

for Staff Sergeant Stanley , from his mom  (Afghanistan DEC, 2009) Posted: 12/15/2009

i am writing this for my son . staff Sergeant Stanley ( Removed for OPSEC reasons) . from camp lejuene, now serving in Afghanistan, i don't know if they have received any of your stockings or not,  but I'm sending you his thanks for all that you do for all our marines and sailors.  i got an e-mail from him today 12-15-09 and he was telling me about all the letters and packages they have all received and some of your just may have been there also among them, he didn't mention Christmas stockings , . but who knows '' Santa '' goes everywhere. any way i am sending thanks from him and all the marines who left from camp lejuene on Nov. 1st  2009. may God bless and keep you for the wonderful things you are doing.     thanks from another marine mom.,  semper fi

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Semper Fi Marine Mom! Thank you for your sacrifices and  the anxieties you deal with daily with your son serving our country. I would feel confident if your son is from Camp Lejuene NC, his battalion or unit is one of the recipients of the stockings. In late November we shipped 9.5 TONS to Afghanistan! The Marines and Corpsman are always impressed and a bit taken back when they see just how much people back home that they never met, perfect strangers care so much, to send items and letters of support. This is why it is so important for every American, that lives with the freedoms we have daily, which many times are takeen for granted, take the time to recognize those that in the past, and present continue to fight for those freedoms!

God Bless you son and  may he stay safe.

(((HUGS))) from one Marine Mom to another.  Your son and all our military are in my thoughts and prayers daily.

I wanted to say thanks to your organization for sending out such heartwarming gifts. I have to admit, I was having a challenging day, and, when I received the stocking, the gesture totally wiped away all of my frustrations. Thanks again.

Happy Holidays

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Thanks Rich, It sounds like we accomplished what we set out to do! If we put a smile on your face and you felt  our  HUGE warm hug of gratitude and support then we were successful.  I don't know you, and most likely never will have the opportunity to meet you, nevertheless your one of my sons! Your in my thoughts and prayers daily.  Thanks for taking the time to write to us and please STAY SAFE! When you have another one of THOSE days, please keep in your mind, those of us back home have NOT forgotten you!  We are here for you ,as you are there representing our nation.

Patty,

Your organization is a complete inspiration.  My fiancé was over seas and received one of your stockings last year.  This year I was able to help with putting together the stockings, it was an absolutely amazing day!! I cannot tell you how much your support through mom4Rmarines means to the troops and what a feeling they get when they receive them.  You are an amazing woman who has made a difference in thousands of lives, I can only hope others learn from your example and continue the efforts to support our troops.  From the bottom of my heart I thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do.  I wish you the happiest of holidays!!

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Thanks so much for the very kind words Brittney!!  I love to hear from families of  those who receive the stockings! I am so pleased it let an impression on your fiancé'. I know everyone that attends stocking day tells me they had no clue how big and impressive the mission was ,until they arrived and saw it with their own eyes.  Everyone wants to become more involved, they loved the atmosphere and spirit of giving , being a part of something that they all devoted their  time and efforts for  our Marines and Corpsman . God knows they all deserve the BEST!

I was thrilled you were able to attend this years event too!

Thank you for taking the time to write to us and  please pass on our love N Hugs to your Marine. Tell him we send our deepest gratitude for his service.  Keep in touch we have big plans to grow much larger in the coming year, with our goals to make a bigger impact of support to our Marines and Corpsman.

Ahaaaaaaa I see your computer came back up..   OO-RAH mission accomplished, we are all about giving our Marines and Sailors smiles! They deserve the best , because they are the best! I am amazed they arrived so quickly!! OO-RAH! My Postmaster brings a huge tractor trailer and stamps every box on site, it then goes to New Jersey for a day then off to the FPO in New York!! This year we numbered boxes so you knew who many were shipped.

If you have time sir, have your Marines and Sailors, if possible to check out our website and take a look at the 5 videos we uploaded from last week end.. They will see just how much we truly appreciate EVERYTHING they do for us.  I hope to send more items I know that are needed.  Also your families on base will also be getting some special  attention for their holiday parties.

God Bless all of our Marines, Sailors and all our military now deployed.  If your Marines and Sailors need anything, please contact me! I knew you would enjoy yourselves, I truly appreciate your dedication and patriotism for our military! We still will have a ton of work to do all through the holiday season, supporting our troops and their families.  Some products are still being held by companies, waiting till we have more funds available.

Fantastic program, but our Marines are not only in the south!  Large contingencies are located in the east too.  I was in Kabul, on active duty in 2005 and returned as contractor after retirement for the past 3.5 years.  Those Devil Dogs in these locations will be missing Christmas just as much as those down south.  Everything outside of the southern area is Army/Air Force centrist and "we" get "left over’s". Let’s try to reach all the Marines this year!

Believe me when I say we are trying our best to get to all our Marines and Sailors. I have worked closely with another organization that is also sending stockings. My son was in Kabul back in 2004 with 3/2. Last year we hit very remote areas in the mountains of Afghanistan as well. If I could I would do the entire USMC !

I can assure you that those AO's will not be without!

I will double check my other contacts to make sure  all are covered.

Hello

Saw information on your project on Quilts of Valor, and my Mother is now taken out her knitting needles and is busy with scarves.  My question is:  It is now November. . .  between now and next October are you accepting scarves?  Are they sent out at periodic intervals?  Would it be all right to include a note with her scarves?  Saw posting about mail not being sealed. . .

Thanks-

Holly, Pround Marine Mom

Ellen, Proud Marine Grandma

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE

Hi Holly!

God Bless your son, please tell him we all send out deepest thanks and gratitude for all the sacrifices he makes daily for our country.

Yes knit away all year! We ask people to please hold onto the scarves until late in October as we have no place for storage. This year we received over 800 handmade scarves!!!  A note is always great to pin onto the scarves, knowing someone took the time to knit or crochet means so much to our Marines and Sailors. They are always in awe that people they do not know took the time and efforts to do something special for them.

I am so happy you posted this here as I accidentally deleted your email! Please email me once again as your email address does not appear in this venue. plewis@mom4rmarines.org

God Bless your son and his service to our fine country!

I would be more than happy to have your students assist on the stocking days. However at this time we are about $160,000 short on this mission. Regardless we will use the donations of those who have generously given at this time to do as many stockings as possible.

I look forward to your email and promise I will not accidentally delete that one! :>)

Please feel free to copy our flyer and pass it onto all your contacts! We are close to needing a miracle here..

I will email you personally.. Maybe Northwest can sent out our flyer ?  Possibly all the employees could come together and support this project?  Time is passing way to quickly!  I am praying like crazy  that we can raise the amount we need to do these 4000 stockings, and ship the 3rd week of November. Shipping alone will be near $20,000! 4000 stockings will be approx 8 tons!

Andrea,

Thanks for your support! I know we have all been hit my the poor economic times, my family has not been exempt from this unfortunate reality .

I think you misunderstood the story on Fox News. It was not my son that was Killed in Action , it  was LCpl William Koprince who sent that very upbeat last email to his parents, about the stockings MOM 4R MARINES had sent his direction in Iraq, back in 2006.  God Bless the Koprince's, and all the families of our fallen. Their strength always totally amazes me!

Every little bit adds up thats for sure! Thank you for your support!

Hi, I just came across the site and it is very heart felt and I would love to support our troops.  I and a few others would like to send greeting cards, postcards to troops.  How do i go about this? We stand behind our troops.    Thanks for your time.  Karen

MOM 4R MARINES RESPONSE:
Karen,

Thank you for being such a patriot! Our Marines and Sailors appreciate cards and letters of support more than you can imagine. Please keep in mind when sending a card or letter to a Marine address them as Dear Marine, ( not Dear Soldier) Soldiers are our wonderful warriors in the US Army.

Also  please do not seal any letters or cards, as they must be read prior to passing them onto the Marines and Sailors in Afghanistan. Yes. believe it or not some people do write nasty and non supportive letters to our troops. Therefore if you could place them all in a large envelope with the individual cards and letters NOT sealed inside, we would be most grateful.

Please Mail all letter and cards to;

MOM 4R MARINES   P.O. BOX 1274   Willow Grove, Pa  19090

Thanks again for caring and supporting our Marines and Sailors!  God Bless you and yours.  I will make sure they get to Afghanistan ASAP!

Well God knows we have many strange people in our fine country. In my eyes anyone that does not support and stand behind the sacrifices our military makes daily continuing to provide us freedom , safety and commerce, all I can say is they are truly ignorant and selfish individuals.

They unfortunately don't realize the freedom they take for granted daily has been provided to them from our past and present Armed Forces. Please forgive them as they know no better.  Americans have proven time and time again when faced with a disaster our nation comes together as one. Unfortunately there will always be people who have such anger and hatred for what ever reason, they look at life through negative glasses.

I can tell you with no doubt regardless of anyone political opinions the nation at large stands behind you all! I see it daily in my emails and letters.

MOM 4R MARINES Response

Andrew and Karen,

Our wounded warriors deserve the best life can bring their direction.  Many of these  young men and woman have life changing experiences while defending and protecting our Nation. Now they must adjust and keep a positive attitude and focus on how to adapt to a totally different lifestyle due to their injuries. They are strong and determined, however they need to know they are NOT forgotten.  I would not be able to do half of what I do if it was not for thousands of dedicated patriotic citizens that make donations daily to honor our brave Marines and sailors.  Many times I receive letters of thanks when people make a donation on my site, it is not  ME they need to thank, I am the middle man.. I thank all OUR WONDERFUL MILITARY AND THE DONATORS! I say OOOOOOOOOrahhhhhhhhhh to all those who have donated and have sent their support my direction. NOTHING WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITH OUT THEM.

Love n Hugs to all my wonderful Marines and sailors

From my family to you, we want to thank you for all you do for us. Not many people respect what a Marine does but people like you, and what you do, gives us that motivation we need to make the impossible, possible. Thank you

Dartagnan

Nah, it is not people like me that motivates you guys,  Marines and sailors have it in their blood.  You're are so self disciplined and motivated! Once in awhile you may need a little bit of reassurance  that we the American people are proud and honored to have you protect us and defend our nation. Years past this was not the case, our Viet Nam veterans did not get the support they so very much deserved. I wish I could go back in time and change all that.

You improvise, adapt and over come all obstacles before you.

You're our hero's!!!!

Love n Hugs to all my wonderful Marines and sailors

Thank you all so very much for the great stockings you put together. Our son said they were a great pick me up for everyone in 3/8.

Thanks again for all you do to support our troops.

God Bless,

Ann

MOM 4R MARINES Response ;

Hi Ann!

I am so happy to hear the Marines and sailors liked the stockings. God Knows they deserve the best.

Please send my best wishes to your son.  All our deployed are in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Keep the chin up mom, I know it surely is not easy being a USMC mom! Been there done it through 3 deployments. However all I kept telling myself is: this is what my son wanted to do, all I can do is support him and his unit any way possible. Stay busy, do not allow time to think. My theory is anxiety and fear will change nothing except waste valuable time .  I always try to keep parents busy on battalion projects, it helps pass time and keeps our focus on a positive mindset.  Our sons enlisted  we ( the parents and families) were drafted! LOL We have to support our sons and daughters chooses and send them our love and hugs any way possible.

God Bless you and your family

Dear Ladies of the MCLA,

We very much appreciated the kind donation of the scarves (and knitted hats) which were passed to our Hospital.  Thank you very much and we will ensure the scarves get passed to your boys admitted to our facility when injured and to anyone else in need.  Your hard work is appreciated.

Howdy,

I am pleased to say I am a recent recipient of one your Christmas stockings and I must say I am extremely impressed. Not only were y'all extremely kind and generous, the items included were practical and worthy of celebration. Countless folks across the nation express their support and its touching to receive their letters and pound and pound of candy and sweets. You, while including a couple sweets, really sent some good gear. Thank you. Spiffy stocking by the way; I plan on keeping it for a long time.

Many thanks,

Thomas

MOM 4R MARINES  Response

Sgt Butterick

Thank you for taking the time in posting your comment on the website. I know things are not easy over there in Afghanistan, please know all your Marines and sailors are in our thoughts and prayers daily.

I have learned over time that most people assume that our military needs a ton of toiletries and sweets. I met a Marine last year that had 47 toothbrushes from one deployment. LOL

I know hygiene is important to our guys however that is if time allows, which is rare. I have found several items that I have heard the guys loved  receiving  therefore they are now staple items always included.

I have one request: PLEASE STAY SAFE!!!

WE love you all so very much. If you need anything please email me. This month there will be several BOXES OF FOOD SENT YOUR DIRECTION. I realize mail delivery is very complicated due to your AO. Hopefully all arrives with the many hugs included in each box.

God Bless you all. Please send all my love to our Marines and sailors of 3/8.
