Merry Christmas Marines is back!! In the last two years we have sent over 20 Tons of stockings and Christmas goodies to Marines and Sailors serving on the front lines in Iraq and we want to send more this year. We are working to fill over a thousand stockings to be delivered to Marines and Sailors in Afghanistan this Christmas.
The corner has been turned in Iraq and with violence there at record low levels, many of the Marines and Sailors that are coming out of Iraq are being redeployed to Afghanistan. The country is far less developed than Iraq and the men are going into the rugged mountains on the hunt for Bin Laden and where the Taliban is regrouping and training more terrorists.
With the economy in turmoil and the United States being in the middle of a hotly contested election and transition, it is easy to forget these young men so far away. Don't let it happen this Christmas. The stockings are filled with useful items and some fun stuff to take their minds off the war in the short times they are back at their base camps. The stockings included foot pads, electronic games, socks, stationary and pens, Christmas candy and a lot more.
The bottom line is it costs money - a lot of money. Foot pads alone for 1,100 guys are over $10,000. We love to tell these guys the stockings come from the people back home who want to show their support and let them know they haven't been forgotten.
It is just a few weeks until Christmas Day. We need the money right now, we have to ship early to get to the remote outposts.
